German Ambassador in Estonia met with BFCC project

German Ambassador at University of Greifswald

The German Ambassador in Estonia, Christoph Eichhorn, visited the University of Greifswald on July 3, 2017. In preliminary talks, Henriette Rau from the Institute for Community Medicine at the UMG – the project’s leading partner for technical infrastructure and data management - presented the BFCC project, its first results and the fruitful cooperation with partners in Estonia. Especially the eHealth pioneering role of Estonia was part of the discussion. The ambassador has been presented current results of the BFCC works regarding eHealth as well as a summary of Baltic Sea Region Forum and its results. These results will be considered in the ‘Digital Health Society Declaration’, which will be published during the Estonian EU presidency. The ambassador welcomed the involvement of Estonian clinical and industrial partners within this European research project. He suggested to intensify the exchange with Estonian hospitals to broaden BFCC’s footprint in Estonia.
The visit of the German Ambassador in Estonia is part of the "Foreign Policy Live - Diplomats in Dialogue" series, which is organised by the Federal Foreign Office. University students and citizens had the opportunity to discuss the current situation in Estonia as well as current foreign policy issues with the political representative.
