Christmas came early this year – on December 19th, 2017 the BFCC Transnational Fracture Registry Platform (TFRP) was launched by the University Medicine Greifswald (UMG) at production level. The TFRP is the core infrastructure element of BFCC to collect research data regarding fracture management and fracture-related complications.
In a festive act the red buzzer button was symbolically pushed by the head of the BFCC partner Institute for Community Medicine at UMG, Wolfgang Hoffmann, together with Deputy Manager of the independent Trusted Third Party, Dana Stahl, and Torsten Leddig, UMG’s supervisor of BFCC’s technical implementation.
The first production phase of the BFCC data management using the TFRP started with the hospital partner UKSH in Lübeck, who entered patient data of the first, consented BFCC patient on December 19th, 2017. A total of three patients have been registered on the launch day of TFRP.
